How Does the Booking Process Work?
Making a booking on Haveaspot involves a simple request-and-confirm process. Here is how it works from start to finish.
Step 1 — Find a Space
Section titled “Step 1 — Find a Space”Browse the Platform to find a Listed Premises that suits your needs. Each listing shows the venue’s description, available dates, House Rules, and pricing. Take time to read the listing carefully before submitting a request.
Step 2 — Submit a Booking Request
Section titled “Step 2 — Submit a Booking Request”When you have found a suitable space, submit a Booking Request through the Platform. You will need to provide details about your intended use of the space, including the nature of your event. See What Information Do I Need to Provide? for guidance on what to include.
Important: Submitting a Booking Request does not guarantee a Booking. It is a request that the Venue must review and approve.
Step 3 — The Venue Reviews Your Request
Section titled “Step 3 — The Venue Reviews Your Request”Once submitted, your request is sent to the Venue. The Venue is responsible for reviewing it and deciding whether to confirm or decline. All bookings on Haveaspot require Venue confirmation — there is no automatic or instant booking process.
During this time, a pre-authorisation hold is placed on your payment method for the Total Fee. This reserves the funds but does not charge you. See How Does Payment Work? for more detail.
Step 4 — Booking Confirmed
Section titled “Step 4 — Booking Confirmed”Once the Venue confirms your request, your Booking is formed and payment is captured. You will receive a confirmation notification and can view your booking details at any time under My Bookings in your account.
At this point, you have entered into a direct agreement with the Venue for the hire of the space. Haveaspot is not a party to that agreement but our Terms (including the Cancellation Policy) always take precedence over the Venue’s own rules.
Step 5 — Your Event
Section titled “Step 5 — Your Event”On the day, ensure you and your guests comply with the Venue’s House Rules and leave the space in the condition you found it. See What Are My Responsibilities as a Booker? for the full picture.
If Your Request Is Declined or Expires
Section titled “If Your Request Is Declined or Expires”If the Venue declines your request, or if it expires without a response, the pre-authorisation hold on your payment will be released. The time it takes for those funds to become available again depends on your bank or card provider.
