Can I End a Booking Early or Ask a Booker to Leave?
There are limited circumstances in which you are entitled to end a booking before it has concluded and ask the Booker to leave your premises. This is distinct from a cancellation — it applies to bookings that have already started or are under way.
When you can end a booking early
Section titled “When you can end a booking early”You may legitimately terminate a booking in progress if:
- The Booker misrepresented the nature of the event when making the booking (for example, describing a small private gathering but arriving with a much larger group or for a different type of event)
- The Booker or their guests are creating a safety risk to themselves, your staff, your property, or others
- The Booker is in serious breach of your House Rules
- The Booker’s conduct is interfering with your operations or those of other occupants of the building
These are genuine, material grounds — not minor inconveniences. If you end a booking early without proper justification, you could face a complaint from the Booker and potential liability.
What happens with the refund?
Section titled “What happens with the refund?”If you end a booking early on any of the above grounds, no refund is due to the Booker. The Booker forfeits the Hire Cost for the session.
How to handle it in practice
Section titled “How to handle it in practice”If you need to ask a Booker to leave:
- Speak calmly and clearly — explain which rule or issue has led to the decision
- Document the situation — note the time, what happened, and if possible take photographs
- Contact Haveaspot — inform support@haveaspot.com as soon as possible so the situation is on record
- Do not engage in a physical confrontation — if there is a risk to safety, call emergency services if necessary
Important: do not misuse this right
Section titled “Important: do not misuse this right”Ending a booking early inappropriately — for example, because you have a better booking opportunity or you have changed your mind — is not a valid use of this provision. In that situation, it would be treated as a Venue cancellation with the associated financial consequences. See What Happens If I Cancel a Confirmed Booking?.
