Am I Responsible for Taxes on My Booking?

Tax responsibilities on a Haveaspot booking are split between the Platform and the parties involved. Here is what you need to know.

The Haveaspot Booking Fee includes VAT where this is required under UK law. This is already included in the fee shown at checkout — you will not be charged VAT separately on top of the displayed Booking Fee.

The Hire Cost is set by the Venue. Whether it includes VAT depends on whether the Venue itself is VAT registered:

  • If the Venue is VAT registered, their Hire Cost will include VAT
  • If the Venue is not VAT registered, no VAT applies to their Hire Cost

The Total Fee displayed at checkout will make clear how the fees are composed.

You are responsible for any taxes that may apply to your use of the Listed Premises beyond the VAT already included in the fees. For example, if you are running a commercial event or using the space as part of a business activity, you may have your own reporting or tax obligations.

Haveaspot does not provide tax advice. If you are unsure whether your booking or event has any tax implications for your business or organisation, we recommend speaking with a qualified tax adviser.
