What Is Haveaspot and How Does It Work for Venues?
Haveaspot is an online marketplace that connects people looking to hire a venue — known as Bookers — with venue owners and managers like you, known as Venues or Spots.
What Haveaspot does
Section titled “What Haveaspot does”Haveaspot provides the platform where you can list your space, set your pricing and availability, publish your House Rules, and receive booking requests. When a Booker confirms a booking through the platform, payment is handled securely via Stripe — Haveaspot’s payment processor.
In simple terms, Haveaspot gives you the tools to:
- Create and manage your venue listing
- Set your Hire Cost, availability, and House Rules
- Communicate with Bookers
- Receive payments directly to your Stripe account
What Haveaspot does not do
Section titled “What Haveaspot does not do”It is important to understand that Haveaspot is an intermediary — it is not a party to the contract between you and a Booker. Once a booking is confirmed, the agreement for the use of your space is between you and the Booker directly.
This means Haveaspot:
- Does not guarantee or vet the Bookers who book your space
- Does not hold funds on your behalf
- Is not responsible for what happens at your venue during a booking
For more on what this means in practice, see What Does Haveaspot’s Role as an Intermediary Mean for Me?.
How the money works
Section titled “How the money works”Listing your space on Haveaspot is free. Haveaspot charges Bookers a Booking Fee on top of your Hire Cost — you do not pay this fee, the Booker does. Payments are processed by Stripe and paid out directly to your connected Stripe account.
See How Does the Fee Structure Work? for a full breakdown.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Before you can go live, you will need a few things in place — such as public liability insurance and, if applicable, an alcohol licence. Your Stripe Connect Account for receiving payments is set up as part of the onboarding process itself, so there is nothing to arrange separately beforehand.
