Can I Book Directly With a Venue I Found on Haveaspot?
No. If you discover a venue through Haveaspot, you must make any bookings and payments for that venue through the Platform. Arranging bookings or payments directly with a Venue to avoid the Haveaspot Booking Fee is not permitted under our Terms.
Why Does This Rule Exist?
Section titled “Why Does This Rule Exist?”Haveaspot provides the Platform free of charge to community venues. The Haveaspot Booking Fee — charged to Bookers — is how we sustain the service. Circumventing this fee by taking transactions off-platform would undermine the model that allows us to support community spaces at no cost to them.
What Counts as Circumvention?
Section titled “What Counts as Circumvention?”Circumvention includes:
- Contacting a Venue you found on Haveaspot to arrange a booking by phone, email, or any other direct channel
- Making a payment to a Venue outside of the Haveaspot Platform specifically to avoid the Booking Fee
- Encouraging a Venue to remove their listing and deal with you directly
What Are the Consequences?
Section titled “What Are the Consequences?”If we determine that you have circumvented the Platform, we may:
- Suspend or permanently terminate your account
- Take further action as permitted under our Terms
Is It Ever Acceptable to Contact a Venue Directly?
Section titled “Is It Ever Acceptable to Contact a Venue Directly?”You may communicate with a Venue outside of the Platform for legitimate reasons — for example, if you already had a pre-existing relationship with the venue before discovering them on Haveaspot, or for purposes unrelated to booking. The prohibition applies specifically to arranging bookings and payments in order to avoid the Platform fee.
