What Do I Need Before I Can Start Listing My Spot?
Before your listing can go live and start accepting bookings, there are a few important things you need to have ready. Working through this checklist in advance will make the setup process much smoother.
Essential requirements

Section titled “A Stripe Connect Account”You need a verified Stripe Connect Account to receive payments through Haveaspot — but you do not need to set this up before you start. Stripe Connect Account setup is part of the Haveaspot onboarding process. When you register your Spot, you will be guided through connecting with Stripe at the appropriate step.
During this process, Stripe will carry out a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, which involves providing some identity and business information. This is managed entirely by Stripe, not Haveaspot. See Setting Up Your Stripe Account for more detail on what to expect.
Public liability insurance
Section titled “Public liability insurance”You must hold adequate public liability insurance before listing your space. Haveaspot does not provide or arrange insurance on your behalf. See What Insurance Do I Need to List on Haveaspot? for more detail.
Any required licences
Section titled “Any required licences”If you plan to allow alcohol at your venue, you must hold all necessary licences before enabling that option in your listing. See What Licences Do I Need If Alcohol Is Permitted at My Venue?.
Before you write your listing
Section titled “Before you write your listing”Accurate space information
Section titled “Accurate space information”Your listing must accurately describe your space — including its capacity, layout, facilities, and any restrictions. Misleading listings can lead to disputes and may put your account at risk.
Your House Rules
Section titled “Your House Rules”Think carefully about how you want Bookers to use your space. Your House Rules are a key part of your listing and are legally binding for Bookers at the time of their booking confirmation. See How to Write Accurate and Effective House Rules.
Surveillance disclosure
Section titled “Surveillance disclosure”If you have any security cameras at your venue, you are required to disclose them in your listing. Cameras in bathrooms or changing areas are strictly prohibited. See Do I Need to Disclose Security Cameras at My Venue?.
Your Hire Cost (inclusive of VAT)
Section titled “Your Hire Cost (inclusive of VAT)”Your Hire Cost must be set inclusive of VAT if you are VAT registered. Haveaspot adds its Booking Fee on top for the Booker — so the price you set is what you receive. See How Does the Fee Structure Work?.
