What Permissions Do Different Team Member Roles Have?
When you add someone to your Haveaspot account, you assign them a role that determines what they can access and do. There are two roles on the platform: Owner and Member.
The Owner role has full administrative access to your account. This includes everything a Member can do, plus:
- Access to billing and payment settings, including your Stripe Connect Account configuration
- The ability to add, manage, and remove other Team Members
- The ability to close the account
- Full access to all account settings
There is typically one primary Owner — the person who set up the account. However, the Owner role can be assigned to additional trusted individuals if needed.
Be careful who you make an Owner. Because this role includes access to billing and payment settings, it carries significant trust. Only assign the Owner role to people who genuinely need this level of access.
Member
Section titled “Member”The Member role provides day-to-day operational access without access to sensitive billing or account management features. A Member can typically:
- View and manage booking requests
- Update listing details, availability, and House Rules (subject to lock-in rules)
- Communicate with Bookers via the platform
- View booking history and upcoming bookings
Members cannot access payment settings, invite or remove other team members, or make account-level changes.
Assigning the right role
Section titled “Assigning the right role”When adding a new Team Member, think about what they actually need to do:
- Front-of-house staff or venue coordinators — likely suitable for the Member role
- Business partners or senior managers who handle finances — may need the Owner role
Your liability
Section titled “Your liability”Regardless of role, you as the account holder are responsible for all actions taken by your Team Members. This applies whether the action was intentional, accidental, or the result of a misunderstanding. See How to Add and Manage Team Members on Your Account.
If someone no longer works for you, remove their access immediately. See What Should I Do If a Team Member Leaves?.
