Can a Venue End My Event Early?
Yes. A Venue has the right to terminate your Booking during the hire period and require you and all attendees to immediately vacate the Listed Premises. This is a right they retain regardless of how much of your hire time remains.
When Can a Venue Terminate Your Booking?
Section titled “When Can a Venue Terminate Your Booking?”A Venue can end your event early if they reasonably determine that any of the following apply:
- You misrepresented your event — for example, you stated a small private gathering but arrived with a much larger crowd or a very different type of event
- You or your guests are in breach of the rules — this includes a serious breach of the House Rules, these Terms, or applicable laws
- There is a safety risk — if your event poses a significant risk to the safety or security of the premises, Venue staff, other occupants, or neighbours
- Your event is causing a nuisance — if the event is causing undue interference or disturbance that the Venue considers unacceptable
Is There a Refund If My Event Is Terminated?
Section titled “Is There a Refund If My Event Is Terminated?”If a Venue terminates your Booking because of any of the above, you are not entitled to a refund for the unused portion of your hire time.
How to Avoid This
Section titled “How to Avoid This”- Be accurate and honest in your Booking Request about the nature and scale of your event
- Ensure all guests and attendees are aware of and respect the House Rules before arrival
- Address any issues that arise during the event quickly and constructively
- Cooperate with Venue staff if they raise concerns during the hire
