What Law Governs My Agreement With Haveaspot?

Your agreement with Haveaspot — including these Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them — is governed by the law of England and Wales.

In most cases, disputes that cannot be resolved informally or through ADR are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

However, if you are a consumer (an individual booking for personal, non-commercial purposes), your statutory rights may allow you to bring legal proceedings in your local courts — for example, if you are based in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or elsewhere in the UK.

If you are booking on behalf of a business, company, charity, or other organisation, you are considered a Business Booker under our Terms. As a Business Booker:

  • Certain consumer-specific rights and protections — such as those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or specific consumer ADR entitlements — may not apply to you to the extent permitted by law
  • The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction with no local-court exception

Nothing in Haveaspot’s Terms limits or removes any statutory rights you have as a consumer under English law that cannot be lawfully excluded. This includes your rights in relation to services that are not carried out with reasonable care and skill, and any rights that protect you from unfair contract terms.
